Liberty's Cloud Criticizes Trump's Easter Iran Threat

New York Liberty guard Natasha Cloud condemned President Donald Trump on Easter Sunday for posting a threat against Iran on social media. Cloud, a WNBA champion, argued in Threads posts that Trump's message contradicted claims of his Christian faith. She highlighted his warning to bomb Iranian infrastructure as un-Christian conduct.

Trump posted on Truth Social that Tuesday would target Iran's power plants and bridges unless the Strait of Hormuz reopens. His message read: "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F----n’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah." Cloud responded: "A sitting president who claims to be ‘a God fearing man’ to be tweeting on Easter Sunday that he will bomb Iran’s infrastructure IS NOT A MAN OF CHRIST."

Cloud added a biblical reference: "A reminder that yes Jesus died for our sins, but He was murdered by…. the governing Authority. He did not follow THEIR law, because THEIR law is not God’s law. A part we TOO often just pass over." She also cited the U.S. federal definition of terrorism as "the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives."

Cloud has previously criticized the Trump administration over Immigration and Customs Enforcement practices and feuded with former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom after calling the U.S. "trash" ahead of the Fourth of July. Trump has described the U.S. military operation in Iran as nearing completion but faces a Hormuz deadline that could escalate tensions. He plans an update on the operation Monday.
